[Adopted 9-23-1976 as Secs. 2-18 through 2-19.3 of the Charter and Revised Ordinances]
Pursuant to the authority contained in §§ 7-460 and 7-474 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, 1958 Revision, as amended, the salaries and wages of the following employees of the City of Derby are herewith amended, fixed and established as follows.[1]

Commencing January 1, 1998, the City Clerk shall be paid a salary which is 10% greater than the base annual salary of the Tax Assessor. This ten-percent margin shall be maintained and recalculated immediately after each and every interval in which the salary of the Tax Assessor is increased.
Any policeman or City employee who may enlist in or who may be inducted into the forces of the United States Army, Navy or Marine Corps under the provisions of the Selective Training and Service Act during any national emergency or during time of war shall, upon being discharged from such service, if physically fit, be restored to the position of employment held by him at the time of entering the service.

A. 
The Chief and Lieutenant of the Derby Police Department shall be allowed a total of 16 days of sick leave per annum during their service as such officials.
B. 
Said officials shall be permitted to accumulate sick leave during continuous employment up to a maximum of 150 working days.[1]

The annual salary for the positions of Chief of Police and Lieutenants of the City of Derby Police Department shall be computed as follows:
A. 
Lieutenant: base annual salary of position of Detective Sergeant as established through collective bargaining between the City of Derby and the Derby Police Union, plus 16%.
B. 
Chief of Police: base annual salary of position of Lieutenant as established in Subsection A, plus 16%.
C. 
The Chief of Police and the Lieutenant's benefits, vacation, holidays and sick leave shall be in conformance with that negotiated in collective bargaining between the City of Derby and the Police Union.
D. 
Subsections A and B shall be negotiated in conjunction with the bargaining unit contract.
