For the purposes of this chapter and for such other purposes as may
be pertinent, the Street Department shall consist of employees in the Highway,
Sanitation, Facilities and Water Pollution Control Divisions, and shall be
called and known as the "Public Works Department," and the Street Commissioner
shall be known as the "Public Works Commissioner" and the "Director of Public
Works."
The Superintendent(s) shall be supervised by the Public Works Commissioner
and the Deputy Director of Public Works and shall supervise the operations
of the Department, including, but not limited to, buildings and facilities,
utilities and water pollution control, grounds, highway, sanitation and parks
and recreation facilities. A Superintendent may act as a Deputy Tree Warden
under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Tree Warden.
Seasonal employees shall perform work or assist in performing work of
the other job classifications on a temporary, seasonal basis.
