[Adopted 9-23-1976 as Sec. 19-30 of the Charter and Revised Ordinances]
All that section of the city included within the following limits shall be known as a zone of quiet, namely: Commencing at a point on the westerly side of Elizabeth Street, two hundred feet southerly of the southerly line of Fourth Street; thence proceeding westerly parallel with Fourth Street, a distance of two hundred feet; thence proceeding northerly parallel with Elizabeth Street to a point two hundred feet north of the northerly street line of Fifth Street; thence easterly parallel with Fifth Street to a point two hundred feet east of the easterly street line of Minerva Street; thence southerly parallel with the easterly street line of Minerva Street to a point two hundred feet south of the southerly line of Fourth Street; thence westerly parallel with the southerly line of Fourth Street to point and place of beginning, such area consisting of the Derby Green and a two hundred foot perimeter from streets surrounding such green.
Any person making or causing in the zone of quiet designated in § 80-2 above any disturbance or noise of any kind or character which may disturb or tend to disturb the rest, peace or quiet of any persons in or adjacent to such area shall be punished in accordance with § 1-14, General penalty.
This section shall not apply to public events held in such area when permission has been given by the Board of Aldermen.
