No vehicle shall be used for the purpose of conveying offal, bones, grease, night soil or any other putrid or offensive substances unless the body of such vehicle shall be in a watertight condition.
When any fire alarm signal shall be sounded, each pedestrian and every person driving or leading any animal, team or operating any vehicle upon any highway over which any fire, hose or hook and ladder company is proceeding for the purpose of answering such alarm or signal shall immediately place himself or lead or drive such animal, team or vehicle to one side of the street and in close proximity to the curb thereof and leave such street open and free and clear of obstruction for the passage of such fire, hose or hook and ladder company.
