During the six hours next after each 12:00 midnight, no operator shall operate a motor vehicle of more than 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property or no owner shall permit the operation of such a motor vehicle upon such streets, maintained by the city, as shall be designated by the Traffic Authority of the city. The Traffic Authority is authorized to have the Street Department erect and maintain such signs as will carry out the purpose of this article.
This article shall not prevent the operation of any authorized emergency vehicles.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE
A. 
A Fire Department vehicle.
B. 
A police vehicle.
C. 
A vehicle, except a van pool vehicle, used to transport passengers for hire.
D. 
An ambulance.
E. 
A public utility company vehicle.
F. 
A vehicle designated by the State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles as an "authorized emergency vehicle."
OWNER
Also a lessor, lessee or any person who causes the operation of said truck.
Each owner or operator who violates this article shall be fined not to exceed $100 for each offense.
