WHEREAS it is in the interests of reducing crime, maintaining
public safety and providing an enhanced quality of life for the residents
and business owners of West New York;
WHEREAS, to maintain and promote the public safety, the Town
of West New York has determined that surveillance video cameras monitoring
public areas would assist law enforcement in recognizing and monitoring
threats, preventing and investigating criminal activity; and
WHEREAS, it would assist and aid law enforcement to require
landowners to maintain security cameras;
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners
of the Town of West New York that surveillance video cameras be installed
as follows:
An owner or managing agent who fails to comply with the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, §
1-19.
