WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners (the governing body) deems it necessary for the efficient conduct of the affairs of the Town of West New York that the Tax Collector of the Town of West New York shall have an Assistant; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners (the governing body) deems the creation of the office of Assistant to the Tax Collector beneficial to the public welfare;
Now therefore, be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of West New York, County of Hudson, State of New Jersey, as follows:
There shall be created and there hereby is created, the office of Assistant to the Tax Collector of the Town of West New York.
The duties and powers of the said Assistant shall be to assist the Tax Collector in the collection of all moneys due to the Town and in maintaining proper, suitable and adequate books and records of all such collections and in keeping an accurate account thereof. He shall assist in the preparation of all statements and reports required to be filed by the Tax Collector by law.
The power to appoint the Assistant is hereby vested in the Director of Revenue and Finance.

The annual salary of the Assistant shall be as established by ordinance, payable in equal semimonthly installments on the first and 15th days of each and every month or at such other time as shall hereafter be determined, and he shall receive no extra compensation or fees.
