The Borough shall provide a discount of 50% on pool membership fees for Fair Lawn residents and their families that are active military, veteran, National Guard or reserve. Proof of active military, veteran, National Guard or reserve status shall be provided at the time of purchase of the membership.

Fees for ambulance transport services.

(1) 
A fee of $900 plus $20 per mile calculated one way will be charged to all persons receiving ambulance transport service by the Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps.

(a) 
In addition to the above, a fee in the amount of $60 will be charged for the use of oxygen when required.
(b) 
In addition to the above, a fee in the amount of $200 will be charged for the use of an EpiPen (or comparable medication) when required.
(2) 
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the payment of the fee by any person receiving such ambulance transport services from Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps will be waived, provided that such person certifies that he/she has no medical insurance coverage in effect to cover the ambulance transport services.
(a) 
The Borough will accept the amount paid by an insurance company as payment in full and will not seek further reimbursement for services.
(b) 
The recipient of ambulance transport services must facilitate the submittal of the bill for such services if required by the insurance company and provide all required information necessary for payment.
(c) 
The Borough of Fair Lawn shall, either directly or through any third-party billing agency with which it has contracted for billing and/or collections for ambulance transport services, be responsible for the billing of all ambulance transport services.
(d) 
Notwithstanding the foregoing, all patients who are not residents or taxpayers of the Borough of Fair Lawn who utilize federally funded insurance programs shall be liable for any copayment or deductible amounts not satisfied, and the third-party administrator contracted by the Borough shall make one reasonable collection effort for all such balances when permissible under federal and state laws and regulations.

(3) 
The Borough of Fair Lawn is authorized to enter into agreement with various hospitals that provide advanced life support (ALS) services to patients who are transported by the Borough of Fair Lawn Emergency Medical Services allowing the hospitals to bundle-bill Medicare for service rendered. The hospital will reimburse the Borough of Fair Lawn its transportation costs within 45 days of receiving payment.
