This chapter shall be known and may be cited and referred to as the "Hillsdale Construction Code Agency Ordinance."[1]

A certain code known as the "BOCA National Building Code," current edition, and the whole thereof, of which code not fewer than three (3) copies have been and are now filed in the office of the Clerk of the Borough of Hillsdale, be and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, including any subsequent supplements and addendums issued thereto.

In addition to the provisions of this chapter and of the BOCA code referred to above, state regulations on the topic of uniform construction codes can be found in the State Uniform Construction Code Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-119 et seq. (P.L. 1975, c.217), titled, "An act to authorize the Commissioner of Community Affairs to adopt rules relating to the construction, alteration, renovation, rehabilitation, maintenance, occupancy and use of buildings and structures; to provide for Statewide approval of premanufactured systems; to provide for the administration and enforcement of the act; and to establish remedies and fix penalties for violation of the act."
