There is hereby created a Department of Health,
the head of which shall be the Township Manager.
There are hereby created the positions of Registrar
of Vital Statistics and Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics. The
Registrar and Deputy Registrar shall perform those duties prescribed
by law and other duties as assigned by the Township Manager. The Registrar
and Deputy shall be appointed for a three-year term.
The Burlington County Health Officer shall be
the Health Officer for the Township of Mount Holly. The Health Officer
shall administer and enforce the health ordinances of the Township,
the regulations of the State Public Health Council for Minimum Health
Standards, the New Jersey State Sanitary Code and other relevant sections
of N.J.S.A. 26:32-9.
There shall be an office of Health Coordinator,
who shall provide for the coordination of health matters in the Township
of Mount Holly with the County Health Officer, as aforesaid. The Local
Coordinator shall plan and administer a comprehensive public health
program, including environmental sanitation, communicable disease
control, child and adult health, health education, laboratory services
and such other services as may be authorized by state law. Upon agreement
with the Burlington County Health Department, the County Public Health
Coordinator may serve as the Township Health Coordinator.
