All streets hereafter improved in the Borough shall be laid out, graded, built and constructed in accordance with all of the standards and specifications set forth in Chapter
195, Subdivision of Land, as amended and supplemented. These streets shall include all improvements set forth in Chapter
195, Subdivision of Land.
No new street shall be accepted by the Mayor and Council which has not been improved in accordance with the standards and specifications provided for in Chapter
195, Subdivision of Land, until monuments have been placed, street signs installed and all drainage appurtenances necessary to properly drain the street installed. All such work shall be done under the supervision of and as approved by the Planning Board and the Mayor and Council.
A deed of dedication, in a form approved by
the Mayor and Council, effectively dedicating a street to public use,
together with a certification of title in the grantor, free and clear
of all encumbrances, or a copy of a map filed in the Bergen County
Clerk's office showing the street thereon as improved with satisfactory
proof that the owner of the property shown on the map was the owner
thereof free and clear of all encumbrances and had the right to dedicate
the street by the filing of the map, must be tendered to the Mayor
and Council before the Mayor and Council shall finally accept such
street.
The Borough may waive the requirements of this article where the street can serve one additional house only as provided in Chapter
195, Subdivision of Land, for roads of lesser specifications.
Violation of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Penalty, Article
III.
