As used herein, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
PARK or PARKS
Includes all dedicated public parks, playgrounds, athletic
fields, recreation centers, open spaces, natural and underdeveloped
areas and other areas used for park, conservation and recreational
purposes or beautification projects, including all buildings, structures,
equipment and appurtenances, as well as entrances and approaches thereto
and roads and parking places located in such park or parks and such
other rights and appurtenances as the Village may have or utilize
for such park purposes, whether the same are under the care and control
of the Village by reason of ownership, lease, use or otherwise and
whether the same are under the care and control of the Union Free
School District No. 4 or any other municipal corporation, provided
only that the same are used for park and recreation or conservation
purposes.
RECREATION
Refers to leisure activities, whether or not organized and
whether or not under the jurisdiction of the Parks and Recreation
Department, school district or any other municipal agency, engaged
in by or available to residents of the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson.
VEHICLES and VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
All automobiles, vans, trucks, minibikes, motorbikes, mopeds
and power-driven vehicles of any sort. Police, fire, ambulance and
other emergency vehicles and vehicles used in furtherance of municipal
or school district matters are not included in the terms "vehicle"
or "vehicular traffic" as used herein.
No person shall cause, allow or permit any vehicle
owned by such person to enter or remain in any park or parks in the
Village of Hastings-on-Hudson between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and
6:00 a.m.
No person shall operate any vehicle in any park
or parks in the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson between the hours of
11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The prohibition against vehicular traffic in
this article shall be suspended during any event sponsored and scheduled
by any agency of the Village or by the School Board and for 30 minutes
past the official termination of such event.

Any person who violates any provision of this article shall be punished subject to the penalties prescribed by §
1-14 of the Village Code.
