As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
BUS
Every motor vehicle designated for carrying more than 10
passengers and used for the transportation of persons, and every motor
vehicle, other than a taxicab, designed and used for the transportation
of persons for compensation.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE
Every vehicle or combination of vehicles (including trucks,
tractors, semitrailers and trailers), that is designed, used, or maintained
primarily for the transportation of goods or property for commercial
purposes.
PARKING or PARKED
The standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise
than temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in
loading or unloading merchandise, property or passengers.
SCHOOL BUS
Every motor vehicle owned either by a public governmental
agency or private school operated for the transportation of pupils,
teachers and other persons acting in a supervisory capacity to or
from school or school activities, or privately owned or operated for
compensation for the transportation of pupils, teachers and other
persons acting in a supervisory capacity to or from school or school
activities.
SEMITRAILER
Any trailer which is so designed that when operated the forward
end of its body or chassis rests upon the body or chassis of the towing
vehicle.
TRACTOR
A motor vehicle designed and used for drawing other vehicles
and not so constructed as to carry a load other than a part of the
weight of the vehicle and load so drawn.
TRAILER
Any vehicle not propelled by its own power drawn on the public
highways by a motor vehicle, except cycle sidecars, vehicles being
towed by a nonrigid support and vehicles designed and primarily used
for other purposes and only occasionally drawn by such a motor vehicle.
TRUCK
Any vehicle or combination of vehicles designed for the transportation
of property that has the following characteristics:

Two axles and six tires; or
No bus, school bus, truck, trailer, semitrailer or tractor shall be parked on any public street or highway within the boundaries of any one- or two-family or multiple residential district delineated as such by Chapter
295, Zoning, except for the purpose of discharging or picking up passengers or the loading or unloading of merchandise or property.

No commercial vehicles shall be permitted on the following streets
in the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson, except for the purpose of repairs,
delivery or service to the residents of such streets:

streets in the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson:

No vehicles shall enter upon parklands except
those authorized by the Village Manager and/or Chief of Police. Parking
shall be permitted only in authorized parking lots adjacent to recreation
areas.
