In accordance with N.J.S.A. 54:5-54 the Tax Collector shall provide to any party entitled to redeem a certificate pursuant to this section (N.J.S.A. 54:5-54) two calculations of the amount required for redemption within a calendar year at no cost. For each subsequent calculation requested from the tax collector there shall be a $50. fee. A request for redemption calculation shall be made in writing to the Tax Collector.
(2) 
In accordance with N.J.S.A. 54:5-97.1 the Tax Collector may charge a lienholder of a tax lien $50. for the calculation of the amount due to redeem the tax lien as required pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5-97.1. Any request for a redemption calculation shall specify the date to be used for the calculation, which shall be the date of the notice. Neither the Tax Collector nor the municipality shall be liable for an incorrect calculation. The fee paid to the municipality shall not become part of the lien and shall not be passed on to any party entitled to redeem pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5-54.

A special service charge shall be imposed, in addition to the actual cost of duplicating the record, with the nature, format matter, collation, or volume of printed matter is such that it cannot be produced by ordinary document copying equipment in ordinary business size or where such record involves an extraordinary expenditure of time and effort to accommodate the request. The requester shall have the opportunity to review and object to this special service charge prior to it being incurred.

(1) 
Upon application for a permit pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 483, Soil Removal, the applicant shall pay a fee to cover the costs of the initial review of the proposed soil removal operation in the amounts as follows:
(a) 
Where the permit applied for is for the removal of less than 2,000 cubic yards during the first year: the sum of $600.
(b) 
Where the permit applied for is for the removal of more than 2,000 cubic yards during the first year: the sum of $900.
(c) 
In addition to the application fees provided herein, the applicant shall pay a review fee escrow deposit in an amount equal to 1/2 of the application fee, to be used to pay actual expenses of the Township for review of the application by the Planning Board's attorney, engineer and planner.

Marriage and Civil Union Fees, Reimbursements and Procedures.
(1) 
A person who is married or joined in a civil union by an authorized official of the Township, as established by N.J.S.A. 37:1-13 et seq., shall pay a fee according to the following schedule. An administrative fee of $25. shall be paid in addition to the fee. All fees shall be paid to the Township of Vernon prior to the ceremony and shall be deposited in the current fund of the Township.
(a) 
Ceremonies Performed in Vernon: $75.
(b) 
Ceremonies Performed outside of Vernon: $100.
(2) 
Fees for service may be reimbursed to the authorized official through the appropriate budget line item and with authorization as established herein and according to law. Alternatively, at the election of the Township, fees for service may be disbursed to the authorized official as additional salary and as referenced in the salary ordinance authorizing the payment of salary to the authorized official.
(3) 
The authorized official shall not be reimbursed for any fees, expenses or expenditures in connection with the performance of a wedding or civil union ceremony unless such expenditures are approved in accordance with the provisions of this paragraph H.
(4) 
The Township shall reimburse only those expenses which are determined by the Township to be reasonable and related to the officiating of the wedding or civil union ceremony. Such expenses shall include auto expenses, limited to the mileage to and from the ceremony and to be reimbursed at the rate then currently established by the Internal Revenue Service regulations or Township policy, at the election of the Township, if the authorized official uses a personal vehicle to attend the ceremony. The Township shall not reimburse expenses or expenditures on behalf of or as a result of any spouse, child, guest or other person attending with the authorized official.
(5) 
The authorized official shall submit and have approved a requisition form or voucher, with supporting receipts, to be provided by the Township and as required by the Mayor or Chief Financial Officer, setting forth the fees (if not paid pursuant to the salary alternative), expenses and expenditures to be reimbursed by the Township associated with the performance of a wedding or civil union ceremony.

The Township of Vernon hereby establishes the following fees for the purpose of instituting a Geographic Information System (GIS), which shall provide parcel-based mapping, locational data, information resources, and property information for use by the Township and the general public:

At the time of issuance of a zoning permit: $25.

At the time of application for a variance, site plan and subdivision: $50.

The Township of Vernon hereby establishes a fee of $350 for the review of a road vacation application form.

The Township of Vernon hereby establishes a return check fee in the amount of $20. If an entity presents more than two returned checks to the Township, all future payments must be made by cashier's check or money order.

A. 
A fee of $25 per application is hereby established for the purpose of reoccupancy checklist review and inspection by Township personnel for all real property reoccupancy transactions in the Township of Vernon by sale, lease or otherwise. Said review and inspection shall include consistency of structure with Tax Assessor records and a review of Building Department records. Commercial premises shall comply within 30 days of reoccupancy for the purpose of registering new businesses with the Vernon Police Department and Fire Prevention Office.
B. 
An additional fee in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.9(d) shall be collected for the purpose of inspecting single- and two-family residential structures for smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm compliance prior to reoccupancy as required by N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.3(a).
C. 
A penalty of $100 is hereby established for all premises other than one- and two-family residential homes that fail to comply with this section. Said penalty shall be levied upon discovery of the violation.
