The Village of Lowville does hereby establish the following as a standard work day for elected and appointed officials per the requirement of the New York State Employees' Retirement System:
A. 
Elected officials:
(1) 
Mayor: 18 hours monthly, including hours reflecting the on-call status of the Mayor, based on a six-hour standard work day, thus reflecting three days per month.
(2) 
Members of the Board of Trustees: 12 hours monthly, based on a standard work day of six hours, thus indicating two days per month.[1]

B. 
Appointed officials:
(1) 
Village Attorney: two days per week, six-hour day; average per month, eight days.
(2) 
Village Clerk: five days per week, minimum seven-hour day; additional time as the need arises in connection with various meetings and duties of the Clerk.
(3) 
Superintendent of Public Works: five days per week, eight hours per day; additional hours reflecting on-call nature of the position, as needed.
