GENERAL REFERENCES

A. 
The position of Village Administrator of the Village of South Floral Park is hereby established and, unless otherwise provided by resolution of the Board of Trustees, the Village Clerk-Treasurer shall be the Village Administrator and shall serve in such capacity at the pleasure of the Mayor.

B. 
Any reference to Village Clerk-Treasurer or Village Clerk in the Code of South Floral Park existing prior to the passage of this chapter shall be deemed to refer to the Village Administrator.
Subject to the direction, control and approval of the Mayor and Board of Trustees, the Village Administrator shall:
A. 
See that all laws applicable to the Village and its officers and employees and all ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations of the Village are faithfully executed and enforced.
B. 
Supervise and direct all functions and activities of the Village and of its officers and employees, except the Village Justice, Village Attorney and Board of Appeals.
C. 
Make reports to the Mayor and Board of Trustees on the affairs of the Village and recommend to them such measures as they may deem necessary or appropriate for the purpose of obtaining greater efficiency and economy in the government and operation of the Village.
D. 
Exercise general supervision over all expenditures of the Village in accordance with the budget and keep the Board of Trustees fully advised of the financial condition of the Village and its future financial needs.
E. 
Have such other powers and duties, not inconsistent with laws, as from time to time the Board of Trustees may by resolution determine.
The term of office of the Village Administrator shall be for four years.

The position of Village Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer may be occupied by a person otherwise qualified under existing laws that resides within the County of Nassau or adjoining county with the consent of the Board of Trustees. This position is appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees.
