A. All
City employees are expected to conduct themselves on City time and
premises in a manner that promotes the safety and welfare of employees,
encourages congenial work habits, and protects personal and City property.
Misconduct may result in disciplinary action ranging from reprimand
to discharge. Some examples of misconduct, which are not all inclusive,
are listed below:
1. Falsification of employment application or other City records or
the usage of falsified documents - failure to ring time card or ringing
another employee's time card - permitting another to ring your time
card.
2. Unexcused tardiness or absence from work - leaving work without permission
or failure to return to work after lunch without permission.
3. Failure or refusal to follow the instruction of supervisors.
4. Reporting for work under the influence of intoxicants or a controlled
substance, or other damaging drugs, including use, sale or possession
of any controlled substance or intoxicants during working hours.
5. Immoral or indecent conduct.
6. Gambling, conducting games of chance, or possession of gambling equipment
on City property.
7. Theft, fraud, or misappropriation of City property.
8. No person, including persons who have been issued a concealed carry
endorsement by the Missouri Director of Revenue under Sections 571.101
to 571.121, RSMo., or who have been issued a valid permit or endorsement
to carry concealed weapons issued by another State or political subdivision
of another State shall be allowed to carry any weapon, concealed or
otherwise, while on duty or off duty in any building or portion of
a building owned, leased or controlled by the City or in any vehicle
owned, leased or controlled by the City. Persons found to be in violation
of this Section may be denied entrance to the building, ordered to
leave the building and subjected to disciplinary measures. No person,
including persons who have been issued a concealed carry endorsement
by the Missouri Director of Revenue under Sections 571.101 to 571.121,
RSMo., or who have been issued a valid permit or endorsement to carry
concealed weapons issued by another State or political subdivision
of another State shall be allowed to carry any weapon, concealed or
otherwise, while engaged in the performance of any duties or services
connected to his or her employment with the City, either inside of
or away from any building or portion of a building owned, leased or
controlled by the City.
9. Unauthorized solicitation or distribution of literature, removing
or defacing notices or signs without specific authorization on City
premises.
10. Threatening, intimidating, use of abusive language to others, fighting,
horseplay or other disorderly, disruptive or unruly conduct.
11. Negligent or deliberate damage or destruction of property, or misuse,
or unauthorized use of any such property.
12. Use or misuse City time or provide any labor or services to any outside
government, agency, business entity, individual or organization during
normal working hours, or on the employee's personal time which may
conflict with the interest of the City of Bridgeton.
13. Refusal to perform any reasonable order of a Supervisor.
