As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
USED TIRE BUSINESS
Any location, place or space used for the sale, purchase,
distribution, disposal, exchange, display or storage of tires.
USED TIRE MERCHANT
A person who keeps, maintains or operates a used tire business
in the City.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the used tire business without first obtaining a license and paying the fee to do the same from the City of Camden for such license, both as provided in Chapter
485, Licenses and Business Regulations.
In addition to the general provisions of this chapter, no license
or renewal thereof shall be granted under this chapter:
A. If the applicant has violated the provisions of this chapter twice
previously.
B. If tires are stored in a fashion which would constitute a fire and/or safety hazard or which would not comply with the standards set forth in Chapter
467, Junkyards, §§
467-13 and
467-14.
C. If there is a reason to believe that the granting of the license
and the operation and conduct of the proposed licensed business will
result in violations of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code,
New Jersey Uniform Fire Code or any other ordinances of the City of
Camden.
D. If a used tire merchant accepts tires from any person without maintaining
records of such transaction, as required by this chapter.
The provisions of the City of Camden Code in Chapter
711, Solid Waste, §
711-29, relating to the disposal of tires and other objects, shall remain in full force and effect.
Inspections are to be conducted at least twice per year, plus
such additional times as the City may deem appropriate.

Unless otherwise provided in the chapter, penalties against persons violating the provisions of this chapter shall be imposed in accordance with the provisions of §
1-15.
