A. 
All City maintained parks shall be open for public use and enjoyment in accordance with the following schedule:

Playground at former Rising Star Elementary School

A. 
The shelter houses at River View Park, Platte Valley Park and J.W. Lewis Park may be reserved at no cost on a first-come first-serve basis. A "Reserved" sign will be posted indicating the reservation.
B. 
Persons wishing to reserve the facilities named above shall complete and sign an application/agreement. Information regarding availability and rules will be given by telephone, and reservation forms may be faxed to applicants, but reservations will not be made until the applicant has presented City Hall with the completed and signed application/agreement.
C. 
Unreserved shelter houses shall be open to the public at any time during the park's regular hours of operation on first-come first-served basis.

A. 
The Park and Recreation Board shall recommend applicable fees for use of Park Facilities to the Board of Aldermen.
1. 
Ball Fields/Practice Fields. For use of fields by organizations not associated with the City Recreation programs the following fees apply. Fields must be scheduled, use and hold harmless agreement signed and insurance certificate provided in order to make a reservation.
2. 
Fees for reservation of Ball Fields/Practice Fields are as follows:
Fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour without use of lights.
Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per hour with use of lights.
3. 
Fees for rental of the Ball Fields/Practice Field shall be paid by the tenth day of the month following usage. Fees for usage are owed regardless of actual usage unless use is cancelled by the Parks and Recreation Director.

No motor vehicle, other than motor vehicle operated by Parks and Recreation personnel and emergency vehicles, shall be operated in or upon any portion of any park except upon the roadways and parking areas provided for motor vehicle operation.

A. 
Parking shall be permitted only in those areas specifically designated as parking areas.
B. 
Parking is specifically prohibited on the grass or other non-paved areas of any City parks unless specifically authorized by the City.

No firearms or bows and arrows shall be permitted in any part of the City parks except in the case of any City Police, County Deputy or authorized security guard.

A. 
No person shall consume intoxicating beverages in a City park.
B. 
No person shall manufacture, possess, have under his/her control, sell, prescribe, administer, dispense, or compound any narcotic drug, or to possess any apparatus, device or instrument for the unauthorized use of narcotic drugs in a City park.

It shall be unlawful for any person to catch or kill any wildlife in any City park.

All domestic animals must be kept on a leash within the boundaries of any City park. Dogs and other pets are prohibited in the Platte City Swimming Pool area. Violators shall be cited under Animal Regulations Section 205.110.

Horses shall not be permitted in any City park at any time except with special written permission of the Park and Recreation Board or Park and Recreation Director.

No camping shall be permitted in any City park at any time except with special written permission of the Park and Recreation Board or Park and Recreation Director.

No person shall build any fire in any City park in any place other the designated charcoal burning grills provided by the City, except with special written permission from the Park and Recreation Board or Park and Recreation Director. All fires built by any person must be extinguished before that person leaves the fire area.

No person shall discharge firecrackers, bottle rockets, cherry bombs, grenade, torpedo or other combustible fireworks whatsoever within a City park.

All waste paper, tin cans, glass containers, rubbish and refuse shall be placed in a proper container as shall be provided by the City and if no such container is provided, then such person shall remove any such waste, rubbish or garbage brought by him/her for proper disposal outside the park.

A. 
All persons shall carefully observe all traffic signs indicating speed, direction, caution, stopping or parking and all others posted for property control of vehicular traffic and to safeguard life and property.
B. 
No person shall operate a vehicle at a rate of speed exceeding that posted.

No person may offer or advertise merchandise or other goods for sale or hire or maintain any concession or use any park facilities, buildings, trails, or other City property for commercial purpose, or otherwise solicit any business or service within any of the City parks except by written permission from the Park and Recreation Board or Park and Recreation Director.

No tractors shall be permitted in any City park except those used by the City or contractors in the course of park maintenance.

No person in a park shall willfully mark, deface, disfigure, injure, tamper with, displace or remove, any building, table, bench, grill, railing, paving or paving material, water lines or other public utility or parts of appurtenance thereof, signs, notices or place cards whether temporary or permanent, monuments, stakes, posts or other boundary markers, or other structures or equipment, facilities, or park property or appurtenances whatsoever, either real or personal.

No person in a park shall damage, cut, carve, transplant or remove any tree or plant or injure the bark, or pick the flowers or seeds, of any tree or plant. Nor shall any person attach any rope, wire or other contrivance to any tree or plant. A person shall not dig in or otherwise disturb grass areas, or in any other way injure or impair the natural beauty or usefulness of any area.

No person in a park shall fail to cooperate in maintaining restrooms and washrooms whether permanent or temporary, in a neat and sanitary condition. No person over the age of five (5) shall use the restroom or washrooms designated for the opposite sex.

No persons or organization shall use the park for the purpose of any meeting or other gathering which will interfere with or exclude the usage of a portion of the park by other members of the public, unless such group or organization shall have first obtained special permission from the Park and Recreation Board or Park and Recreation Director.

No person in a park shall paste, glue, tack or otherwise post any sign, place card, advertisement or inscription whatever, nor shall any person erect or cause to be erected any sign whatever on any public lands or highways or roads adjacent to a park.

Persons found guilty of violating any provision of this Article shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of Section 100.100 of the Platte City Municipal Code. Each violation shall be deemed a separate offence.
