A. Residential Electric Meter Testing. Residential electric
meters will be tested, at the request of the resident, once every
twelve (12) months at no cost. A fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) per
test will be charged for additional tests during the twelve (12) month
period. If the meter is found defective, the City will replace the
meter at no cost and refund or credit the fee to the existing utility
account.
B. Commercial Electric Meter Testing. Commercial electric meters
are currently tested every two (2) years by an external testing firm
at no cost to the customer. Customers requesting additional tests
during the two (2) year period will be charged the invoiced amount
charged by the testing firm. If the meter is found defective, the
City will replace the meter at no cost and no testing fee will be
charged to the customer.
C. Water Meter Testing.
1. Three-fourths (¾) inch and one (1) inch water meters will
be tested, at the request of the resident, once every twelve (12)
months at no cost. A fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) per test will
charged for additional tests during the twelve (12) month period.
If the meter is found defective, the City will replace the meter at
no cost and refund or credit the fee to the existing utility account.
2. Two (2) inch and four (4) inch water meters must be tested by an
external testing firm. Customers requesting tests will be charged
the shipping and the invoiced amount charged by the testing firm.
If the meter is found defective, the City will replace the meter at
no cost and no shipping or testing fee will be charged to the customer.
D. Gas Meter Testing. All natural gas meters and regulators
must be tested by an external testing firm. Customers requesting tests
will be charged the shipping and the invoiced amount charged by the
testing firm. If the meter or regulator is found defective, the City
will replace the meter or regulator at no cost and no shipping or
testing fee will be charged to the customer.
