A. All
non-exempt employees who are required to work hours in excess of their
normal schedule will be eligible for compensatory time off. Employees
cannot receive both compensatory time and overtime salary as compensation
for the same excess hours worked.
B. Accrual
of compensatory time shall be limited to a maximum of forty (40) hours.
Whenever possible, compensatory time should be utilized during the
same or subsequent pay period following the accrual with prior approval
of the department head.
C. All
compensatory time accrued will be approved by the supervisor and department
head. All compensatory time request to be taken must be in written
request form five (5) days in advance, reviewed by the supervisor
and approved by the department head. Department heads may approve
emergency compensatory time. Employee will be compensated for any
unused compensatory time at the time of separation.
D. At
no time can two (2) Clerks be off on compensatory time. This will
be strictly enforced.
