No person, firm, or corporation owning, leasing, or controlling
real property shall allow awnings to be placed on said real property
which project over the public streets, highways or sidewalks of the
Town unless licensed to do so by the Board of License Commissioners.
All such licenses shall expire on December 31 of each year.
Applications for such licenses shall be made to the Board of
License Commissioners on forms provided and shall set forth the name
and place of business of the applicant and such other information
as the Board of License Commissioners and the State Building Code
shall require.
Every such awning shall be safely and securely attached to the
building and so located and constructed as to not interfere with pedestrians,
the lowest part of said awning to be at least seven feet above the
sidewalk, and no part thereof to extend beyond the outer line of the
sidewalk. No additional signage or banners may be attached to any
awning.
All awnings shall conform to signage requirements of the Town
of Greenfield ordinances, Greenfield Zoning Ordinance, and approval of the Building
Inspector.
