Whenever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the
meaning respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of
the Revised Statutes of New Jersey shall be deemed to apply to such
words and phrases used herein.

Whenever certain hours are named in this chapter, they shall
mean either Eastern Standard Time or Eastern Daylight Saving Time,
as may be in current use in the Borough.

A. Trucks over four tons excluded from certain streets. Trucks over
four tons gross weight are hereby excluded from the streets or parts
of streets described in Schedule V, except for the pickup and delivery
of materials on such streets, Schedule V, being attached to and made
a part of this chapter.

The streets or parts of streets described in Schedule VI, attached
to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as one-way
streets in the direction indicated.

A. Through streets. Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140,
the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule VII, attached
to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as through
streets. Stop signs shall be installed on the near right side of each
street intersecting the through street except where yield signs having
sides 36 inches in length are provided for in the designations.

B. Stop intersections. Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140,
the intersections described in Schedule VIII, attached to and made
a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as stop intersections.
Stop signs shall be installed as provided therein.

C. Yield intersections. Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140,
the intersections described in Schedule IX, attached to and made a
part of this chapter, are hereby designated as yield intersections.
Yield signs having sides 36 inches in length shall be installed as
provided therein.

A. Loading zones. The locations described in Schedule X, attached to
and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading
zones. No person shall park a vehicle in said locations during the
times indicated other than for the loading or unloading of goods and
materials.
B. Dropoff zones. The locations described in Schedule XXII, attached
to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as dropoff
zones. No person shall park a vehicle in said locations during the
times indicated other than for the letting off, or taking on, of passengers.

The locations described in Schedule XI, attached to and made
a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.

The locations described in Schedule XII, attached hereto and
made a part hereof, are hereby designated as bus stops. No vehicle
other than a bus, picking up or discharging passengers, shall be permitted
to occupy said location between the hours indicated.

A. The streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVIII, attached
to and made a part of this chapter, shall have the speed limits designated
in such schedule.
B. Regulatory and warning signs shall be erected and maintained to effect
the above designated speed limits as authorized by the Department
of Transportation.

The following streets and locations are hereby designated as
tow-away zones. Any vehicle parked or standing as to obstruct or impede
a normal flow of traffic, block entrances or exitways, including driveways,
pedestrian walkways, or present in any way a safety or traffic hazard,
may be removed by the towing of said vehicle at the owner or operator's
expense, within the discretion of the Borough of Red Bank Police Department,
pursuant to Title 39 and the Borough of Red Bank Code:
A. Chestnut Street, from Maple Avenue to West Street;
B. Oakland Street, from Maple Avenue to West Street;
C. Pearl Street, from Chestnut Street to Monmouth Street.

A. Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey Statute,
every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter
or any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more
than $50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
B. All former traffic ordinances of the Borough of Red Bank covered
in this traffic chapter are hereby repealed, except that this repeal
shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person
for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby
repealed prior to the taking effect of this chapter.
