No person, unless he is the holder of a permit issued by the Board of Selectmen and except in accordance with the terms and conditions of such permit, shall place an obstruction in any street on any sidewalk within the Town and allow it to remain there, or allow shrubbery to overhang sidewalks so as to impede the free passage of pedestrians and snow removal equipment.
The Selectmen shall not allow any items, except for trash bags and recyclables for municipal curbside collection meeting the provisions of Chapter 372, Solid Waste, of the Code of the Town of Greenfield, to be placed within the property limits of any way owned, controlled or maintained by the Town, including in or on any sidewalk or tree belt.
The owner of any real estate abutting any way owned, controlled or maintained by the Town shall remove any items, except for trash bags and recyclables for municipal curbside collection meeting the provisions of Chapter 372, Solid Waste, of the Code of the Town of Greenfield, which are placed within the property limits of said way, including in or on any sidewalk or tree belt, within 24 hours of the placement of said items.
Whoever violates any provision of this regulation shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $50 for each violation, with each day being considered a separate violation.
