A. 
Legislative authority.
(1) 
The Borough of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, under authority of Sections 501 through 516 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (1968 P.L. 805, No. 247),[1] hereby adopts the following regulations governing the subdivision and development of land within the Borough.

(2) 
All plans for subdivision shall be submitted to the Borough Planning Commission and approved by it and the Borough Council before they shall be recorded.
This chapter has been adopted in order to create conditions favorable to the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the citizens of Vandergrift Borough through the provision of regulations that will ensure the harmonious development of the community.
The provisions contained herein shall apply to all land within the Borough limits of Vandergrift Borough.
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as "The Subdivision Ordinance of Vandergrift Borough."
