In accordance with the Act of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Vehicle Code, 1976, June 17, P.L. 162, No. 81 § 1, as amended [75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368(c)(1)], the rate of speed of any vehicle may be timed by a police officer using a mechanical or electrical speed-timing device.
The Borough of Vandergrift Police are authorized to use the Excessive Speed Preventer (ESP) device to assist them in enforcing the speed limits for the highways, roads, streets and alleys in the Borough of Vandergrift.
The purpose of this article is to authorize the Borough of Vandergrift Police, in addition to ascertaining the speed of a vehicle by any other method permitted by law, to utilize and operate the Excessive Speed Preventer (ESP) when enforcing the speed restrictions within the Borough of Vandergrift.
