The Division of Fire Safety in the Department of Community Affairs
of the State of New Jersey is hereby designated as the agency for
the collection of the annual registration fees associated with life-hazard
uses as set forth in the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, N.J.A.C. 5:70-1.
A. Fees.

(1) For the issuance of the permits as described in the Uniform Fire
Code (N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.7, Permits), the permit fee shall be the minimum
fee established as per the New Jersey State Fire Code, N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.9(c).
For the issuance of a certificate of smoke detector, carbon monoxide
detector and fire extinguisher compliance (N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.3 CSDCMAC),
the application fee shall be based upon the amount of time remaining
before the change of occupants is expected and shall be the fees as
described in the Uniform Fire Code N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.9(d).
(2) Fees for Type I permits requiring inspections conducted after normal
Howell Township Business hours shall be $100.
B. The Fire Bureau shall, hereafter, furnish upon request of any person
or entity a copy of any official fire report or fire investigation
report (except those required or permitted under law to be excluded
from public inspection "confidential files") after the following fees,
payable to the Howell Fire Bureau, have been paid by the requesting
party:

(3) Maximum report fee (not to exceed): $25.
(4) For the issuance of a certificate of fire code status, the fee shall
be $50 for each application.
C. Inspection fees for non-life-hazard use/occupancy fire prevention
inspections shall be as follows:

D. A reinspection
fee, if a third inspection is required for compliance with the smoke
detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher compliance,
the fee shall be $35.

E. There
shall be a returned check fee of $20 and all certificates of compliance
will be void until the application fee is and returned check fees
are satisfied.

F. For the purposes of this article, farm buildings are considered non-life
hazard uses by the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code. However, any farm
buildings on "farm assessed property," as determined by the Howell
Township Tax Assessors Office will pay the fees as outlined in the
following schedule:

(1) Farm property with one farm building: $75.
(2) Farm property with more than one up to three farm buildings: $100.
(3) Farm property with more than three farm buildings: $100 plus $50
for each additional building. Farm buildings will not be charged a
fee based on the square foot of each building.
