All businesses and/or occupations licensed by any department, division and/or agency of the State of New Jersey which are otherwise exempt from the licensing requirements of this chapter shall nevertheless be required to file a business registration statement with the Clerk of the Township of Haddon pursuant to the provisions of this article and shall demonstrate compliance with the provisions of Chapters 95, 122 and 142 of the Code of the Township of Haddon prior to commencing any such business operations and/or business activities within the Township. It is the express intent of this article that all businesses operating within the Township of Haddon shall be required to demonstrate compliance with the Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Construction Code and Zoning Code of the Township of Haddon for the health, safety and welfare of all persons occupying or visiting any property from which a business is conducted, whether temporarily or permanently, and the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and residents of the Township of Haddon.
A. 
Any business and/or occupation subject to the registration requirements of this article shall submit to the Township Clerk, or his or her designee, a business registration statement in the form maintained on file in the office of the Township Clerk and the Zoning Office, which form shall require the registrant to provide the following information:
(1) 
Name of the business and/or occupation under which the business is to be conducted and a copy of a valid business registration certificate issued by the Division of Revenue of the State of New Jersey's Department of Treasury in the same business name;
(2) 
Name, personal address, personal telephone number, cellular telephone number and email address of the person completing the registration statement and/or otherwise responsible for handling the business affairs of the registered business or occupation;
(3) 
Address and business telephone number of the business to be registered, including the block and lot number thereof;
(4) 
Name and address of the registered agent if the business is a limited-liability company, partnership, corporation or other form of business entity other than a sole proprietorship;
(5) 
Name, address and telephone number of the person to be contacted on behalf of the registered business in the event of an emergency;
(6) 
A statement indicating the nature of the proposed business or occupation, proposed hours of operation and number of persons anticipated to be employed by the registered business at or on the property identified in response to Subsection A(3) above; and
(7) 
A current as-built survey of the property from or upon which the registered business is to be conducted and current interior floor plans of the interior of the building within which the registered business is to be conducted.
B. 
It shall be the obligation of the registered business and/or occupation, or such person in charge of same, to report to the Township Clerk any change in the information required to be provided on a business registration statement within 14 days of the date of any such change.
C. 
A copy of the business registration statement filed with the Township Clerk shall be posted at all times in a conspicuous place on the property at which the business is located and/or conducted at the same address identified in the business registration statement.
A. 
Upon receipt of a business registration statement, the Township Clerk shall provide a copy thereof to the Zoning Officer, Fire Marshal, Construction Code Official and BID Coordinator for review and investigation in accordance with § 154-8 of this chapter. Such officials shall investigate and respond in the same manner as set forth in § 154-8 for purposes of determining compliance with the requirements of the Code of the Township of Haddon pertaining to the use, occupancy, construction, maintenance and firesafety status of the property and/or buildings at, on and/or from which the proposed business is to operate and/or the business activities are to be conducted.
B. 
No business subject to the registration requirements of this article shall be permitted to commence and/or conduct business within the Township of Haddon unless and until the registrant has obtained a zoning permit and certificate of occupancy authorizing the business to be conducted at, on and/or from the property designated on the registration statement.
A. 
All business registration statements shall be effective for one year from the date of issuance, except that a registration statement shall become null and void and/or shall terminate immediately upon any change in ownership of the registered business or change in the location at which the registered business is conducted as same is identified on the business registration statement.
B. 
The owner and/or operator of every registered business shall file a renewal registration statement with the Township Clerk on or before the expiration date of the then-current registration statement.
C. 
Upon the earlier termination of a business registration statement as set forth in Subsection A above, the business owner and/or operator shall immediately file a new business registration statement identifying the new owner or operator, or the new address and/or property location at or from which the business is proposed to operate, as the case may be. New business registration statements filed in accordance with this subsection shall be processed in accordance with § 154-17 and shall be subject to all other provisions of this article.
