No person shall play baseball or any other game on any street
or public place in the Village.
No person shall throw a stone or any other thing at any of the
street lamps or attachments, or in any way injure any electric streetlight
or fixture thereof, or gas main or pipe connected or attached to any
streetlight, or in any way injure or interfere with any water pipe
or main in any street or place in the Village.
All persons are forbidden to unnecessarily or unreasonably congregate
and stand upon the sidewalks or corners of the streets of the Village.
No person or corporation shall string or suspend across any street, square or public place within the Village any banner, sign or other device or any ropes, guy lines or attachments thereto, without first having obtained permission from the Board of Trustees of the Village, under a penalty as set forth in §
228-15 of this chapter for each day it is allowed to remain after notice of its removal has been given by the Mayor, police or Trustees of the Village.
No person shall use any hand sled or similar vehicle for coasting
in or upon any public street or place within the limits of the Village,
except upon such streets or places as may be designated and set apart
by the Board of Trustees of the Village for that purpose.
No person shall go about or remain in or about any of the streets,
sidewalks or public places of the Village, beating any drum or tambourine,
playing a hand organ or any other musical instrument, without the
written permission of the Mayor or, in his absence, of a Trustee of
said Village.
No person shall wilfully give or cause or induce others to give
a false alarm of fire within the Village.
No person or persons shall remove any fire apparatus, engine,
hose wagon, hook-and-ladder truck or other apparatus or any appliance
or attachment thereto, belonging to the Village of South Nyack, or
which apparatus or attachment the Village of South Nyack assists in
maintaining or contributes to the support, upkeep or maintenance of
the company owning or operating the same outside of the fire limits
of the Village of South Nyack, without first obtaining the permission
of the Mayor of said Village, or at least two Trustees thereof.
No person or persons shall wilfully or maliciously injure or
destroy any hose, engine or other fire apparatus, appliance or attachment
thereof belonging to the Village of South Nyack, or to the Fire Department
thereof, or to any fire company within the Village.
A. Fire hydrants
shall be opened only by members of the Nyack Fire Department in the
discharge of their duties, as such, except by the order or permission
of the Board of Trustees of the Village or the Water Commissioners
thereof.
B. No person
shall open any hydrant, gate, valve stop or block or place any obstruction
on or about the same.
No person or corporation shall string or place an electric-light
or telephone wire or wires upon, along or over any public street or
public place in the Village without the permission of the Board of
Trustees first being had and obtained. Any person or corporation violating
this section shall be subject to a penalty for each 24 hours that
such wire or wires shall remain up after notice to remove the same
has been given, or until the necessary permit is granted.
No owner or occupant of property abutting on a public street,
grounds or place, or immediately adjacent thereto, shall place or
cause to be placed any barbed wire or similar device on any fence,
house, post or tree or along the boundaries of any such street, grounds
or place or immediately adjacent thereto.
No person shall tie or fasten in any manner any horse or other
animal to any shade or ornamental tree planted or growing in any street,
highway or public place in the Village or to any box or case around
such tree, or to any hydrant, telephone, telegraph or electric-light
pole, fence or lamppost, standing in any of the streets, highways,
squares or public grounds in the Village.
No person shall drive, ride or lead any cart, horse, carriage,
bicycle, automobile or other vehicle of any description on, along
or across any sidewalk except for the purpose of entering a driveway.
Any person, partnership or corporation who or which commits, takes part or assists in any violation of any provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a Type A penalty as set forth in §
1-15 of the Village Code.
