[Adopted 6-1-1952 by Ord. No. 57 (Ch. 70, Art. VI, Div. 2, of the 1995 Village Code)]
The use by large vehicles of certain streets in the Village is hereby declared to be dangerous to people and to the streets, and the prohibition of the use of certain streets by such vehicles for purposes of through travel or for any purpose, other than making a delivery to or obtaining property or persons from any premises abutting on the streets, is declared to be against the public policy of the Village.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
LARGE VEHICLES
Any vehicle for the carriage of property which has a weighted capacity of more than 2 1/2 tons.
Any person violating this article shall be punished as provided in § 1-6 for each violation of this article. If imprisonment is adjudged in any case it may be in any place of confinement provided by the Village for such purpose in the discretion of the court.

A. 
No person shall drive, operate or park any large vehicle at any place within the Village limits except upon the following streets:

From the intersection of Kalamazoo Avenue to the intersection of South Richardson Street (also known as Silver Street and as South 24th Street) and then south on South Richardson Street to the Village limits

From the intersection of East Prairie to the intersection of Highway Street

From the Village limits to the intersection of East Prairie
B. 
Notwithstanding this restriction, however, such vehicles may travel upon all streets of the Village for the purpose of loading or unloading, but in doing so shall use the shortest and nearest route from the point on a street upon which the operation of such large vehicle is not prohibited to the place of loading or unloading and in returning to a street upon which travel by such vehicle is not prohibited, so that such vehicle shall at no time deviate from a street upon which such travel or operation is not prohibited to a greater distance than is necessary to reach the point of loading or unloading.
Appropriate signs giving notice that truck travel by large vehicles is prohibited upon the streets listed in § 445-4 shall be erected and placed upon the streets.
