The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Vicksburg Community Schools, District No. 49, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties, Michigan.
Upon receipt of a duly authorized resolution enacted by the Board of Education of the School District requesting the Village to modify this article, such amendments to this article as are necessary to effect such modification will be enacted by the Village, provided that such modification is not inconsistent with other ordinances of the Village or in violation of state statutes. The Village will revoke this article upon receipt of a resolution of the Board of Education of the School District requesting such revocation.
References in the Uniform Traffic Code for Michigan Cities, Townships and Villages to the title "traffic engineer" shall mean that person designated by the Board of Education of Vicksburg Community Schools, District Number 49, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties, Michigan (or its authorized officer, agent or employee), as the traffic engineer for such school district.
A resolution having been received from the Board of Education of the Vicksburg Community Schools, District No. 49, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties, Michigan, as provided in Act No. 175 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1958 (MCLA § 257.961), as amended, requesting the Village to adopt ordinances governing the operation, parking without fees and the speed of motor vehicles on the property of such school district for the purpose of enforcement and imposing of penalties for the violation thereof in the same manner as other ordinances of the Village are enforced. Article III, Uniform Traffic Code, and Article VII, Michigan Vehicle Code, of this chapter shall govern the operation of motor vehicles on the property of the public schools. Complete copies of the code are available at the office of the Village Manager for inspection by and distribution to the public at all times.
