A. No person under 12 years of age may operate an all-terrain vehicle
unless he or she is accompanied by a parent, guardian or person over
18 years of age. No person who is under 12 years of age may operate
an all-terrain vehicle which is an implement of husbandry on a roadway
regardless of whether he or she is accompanied by a parent, guardian
or person over 18 years of age.

B. A person who is at least 12 years of age but under 16 years of age
may not operate an all-terrain vehicle unless he or she holds a valid
all-terrain vehicle safety certificate or is accompanied by a person
over 18 years of age. A person who is at least 12 years of age but
under 16 years of age may not operate an all-terrain vehicle which
is an implement of husbandry on a roadway unless he or she holds a
valid all-terrain vehicle safety certificate, regardless if he or
she is accompanied by a person over 18 years of age. A person who
is at least 12 years of age but under 16 years of age who holds an
all-terrain vehicle safety certificate shall carry it while operating
an all-terrain vehicle and shall display it to a law enforcement officer
on request.
C. Persons enrolled in a safety certificate program approved by the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources may operate an all-terrain
vehicle in an area designated by the instructor.
D. The above requirements do not apply to operation of all-terrain vehicles
by an operator under the age of 16 years on land owned or leased by
the person's immediate family. "Leased lands" do not include lands
owned or leased by an organization of which said operator or his or
her immediate family is a member.
E. These requirements do not apply to a person at least 12 years of
age but under 16 years of age who holds a valid certificate issued
by another state.
F. No person shall be permitted to operate a motorcycle unless he or
she possesses a valid Wisconsin operator's license which has been
specifically endorsed for motorcycle operation.

No person shall operate a snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, motorcycle
or other recreational vehicle in Veterans Memorial Park or any other
area designated as a park or recreational area within the corporate
Village boundaries. Mill Pond Park may be used by snowmobile operators,
all-terrain vehicle operators, motorcycle operators or other recreational
vehicle operators only for the purpose of gaining access to the Milwaukee
River from the boat ramp area of Veterans Memorial Park on Fifteenth
Avenue.

A. No snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, motorcycle or other recreational
vehicle may operate on the Milwaukee River within the corporate Village
boundaries unless at the time of operation the vehicle in question
is registered with the State of Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles
or the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and has the registration
decals or license plate displayed as required or is exempt from registration.
A snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle is exempt from registration if
it is:
1.
Owned by the United States, another state or political subdivision
thereof, but such snowmobile shall display in a visible manner the
name of the owner;
2.
Covered by a valid registration in another state, province or
country, if there is some identification of registration displayed
on the vehicle and it has not been in this state for more than 15
consecutive days;
3.
Used exclusively for racing on a raceway facility;
4.
Owned by a political subdivision of the state and used for enforcement
or emergency purposes.
B. No snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, motorcycle or other recreational
vehicle may operate on the Milwaukee River in the area designated
for ice skating purposes north of the Highway 57 bridge or south of
the area as marked "no snowmobiling."

No snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, motorcycle or other recreational
vehicle may be operated unless it is equipped with equipment and noise
controls which comply with the requirements of Wisconsin state law.

Unless otherwise provided in this chapter, any person who violates
any of the provisions of this chapter shall forfeit not less than
$45 nor more than $250, together with the costs of prosecution, and
in default of payment of the forfeiture and costs of prosecution shall
be imprisoned in the county jail until the forfeiture and costs are
paid, but not exceeding 30 days.
