Vilas County Uniform Addressing System Ordinance was established
in 2008 and the new address signs must meet the minimum specifications
and must replace the old ones within 10 years of the 8-12-2008 date;
and
If the Town of Arbor Vitae does not send a plan of compliance, the
County will commence a civil action in Vilas County Circuit Court
pursuant to Section 28.14 of the Uniform Addressing System Ordinance;
and
The town has been selling the required fire numbers and post and
have made several attempts over the past nine years to inform the
town of this mandate and let the community put their own signs up.
To comply with the Vilas County Uniform Addressing System Ordinance,
any mandatory fire sign that has not been put up will be put up by
the Town pursuant to § 66.0701, Wis. Stats., and a fee of
$65 will be charged to your real estate tax bill.
