[Adopted 7-31-1990]
All residents, businesses and organizations within the Village of Unadilla shall use the Southern Otsego County Transfer Station located in Oneonta, New York, for solid waste. Residential recyclable materials may be delivered to Oneonta or to the county-supplied recycling center located on Route 7 between Unadilla and Sidney.
The Village of Unadilla will not provide curbside collection of solid waste or recyclables. Village residents will be responsible for contracting with private haulers or will transport their solid waste and recyclables personally, consistent with the rules and procedures of the Southern Otsego County Transfer Station.
The disposal of major appliances, mattresses, tires and household furnishings will be the responsibility of individual residents and businesses, except for periodic advertised collections by the Village of Unadilla.
The Village of Unadilla will provide periodic collections for specified green and yard wastes, such as tree branches, brush, leaves and Christmas trees.
[Adopted 7-2-1991]

(1)

The Village is working towards creating a composting area for those wastes which are able to be composted. Therefore, it is important that waste is handled correctly and not mixed.
In the interest of keeping Unadilla looking good, it is requested that this waste not be placed at curbside until near pickup time. It is also requested that these materials be placed out as early as possible on pickup days so that none is missed on that particular day. To prevent some from abusing the privilege of this service, the Village of Unadilla reserves the right to limit quantities.
Copies of the new waste collection policy will be included with the August water billing and will also be sent to the newspapers as new items.
