The Township of Plumsted Environmental Committee (a citizens
advisory committee) is hereby established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-27
as amended and supplemented. (Ord. No. 2018-21)
The Environmental Committee shall consist of up to seven (7)
members appointed by the Mayor. The Mayor shall designate one (1)
of the members to serve as Chairman and presiding officer of the Environmental
Committee annually. The terms of office of each Environmental Committee
Members shall be for one year running from the date of the appointment
during the Township reorganization until the next annual reorganization

The Environmental Committee is established to advise the Mayor
and Committee as to the protection, development or use of natural
resources, including water resources, located within the territorial
limits of the Township of Plumsted. The Environmental Committee shall
have the power to conduct research into the use and possible use of
the open land areas of the Township and may coordinate the activities
of unofficial bodies organized for similar purposes, and may advertise,
prepare, print and distribute books, maps, charts, plans and pamphlets
which in its judgment it deems necessary for its purposes. (Ord. No.

The Environmental Committee shall keep records of its meetings
and activities and make an annual report to the governing body. (Ord.
