The provisions of Subdivision B of Article 1 of N.J.S.A. 26:3-3,
et seq., are hereby adopted in the Township of Plumsted.
The local Board of Health of this municipality shall be composed
of seven (7) members and two (2) alternates. The alternate members
shall be designated as Alternate No. 1 and Alternate No. 2.
The Board of Health shall be composed of the Township Committee,
the Township Assessor and one (1) physician to be appointed by the
Township Committee for a term of three (3) years from the time of
his appointment until his successor is appointed and qualified.
The members of the Board of Health shall receive no salary or
compensation for their services.
Upon appointment and confirmation of the members of the new
Board, the Township Clerk shall notify each appointee of his appointment
and shall properly induct him into office. The tenure of the present
Board of Health shall cease at the time of and simultaneously with
the organization and qualification of the new Board as provided for
herein. Upon the induction of the new members into office and after
organization thereof, the new Board shall immediately assume all of
the duties, obligations and responsibilities of the local Board of
Health.
The Board of Health shall appoint a local registrar pursuant
to N.J.S.A. 26:8-11 who shall perform those duties set forth in N.J.S.A.
26:8-25.
The term of the local registrar shall be three (3) years and
he shall serve until his successor is appointed and qualified.
The local registrar, immediately upon his acceptance of office,
shall appoint a deputy who shall perform the duties of registrar in
the case of his absence, disability or death. The deputy shall, in
writing, accept the aforementioned appointment.
