A Municipal Court of the Township of Plumsted, in the County
of Ocean, has been established pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A.
21:8-1, et seq.
The name of said Municipal Court shall be the "Municipal Court
of the Township of Plumsted, in the County of Ocean."
The Municipal Court of the Township of Plumsted shall have a
seal which shall bear the name of the Court.
There shall be a Judge of said Municipal Court who shall be
appointed by the governing body of the Township of Plumsted. Said
Municipal Court Judge shall serve for a term of three (3) years from
the date of his appointment and until his successor is appointed and
qualified. Any appointment to fill a vacancy caused other than by
expiration of term shall be made for the unexpired term only.

Said Municipal Court of the Township of Plumsted and the Judge
thereof shall have, possess and exercise all of the functions, powers,
and duties and jurisdiction conferred by law upon said Court and Magistrate.
A. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2B:12-28 the Municipal Court Judge is authorized
to require a person applying for representation by a Municipal Public
Defender to pay a waivable application fee of not more than two hundred
dollars ($200) to the municipality through the Municipal Court.
There shall be a Municipal Court Officer, who shall be appointed
by the governing body, who shall serve for a term of one (1) year
commencing January 1st of the year in which he/she is appointed.
The Municipal Court Officer shall receive an annual salary as
established in the annual Salary Ordinance to be paid in the manner
set forth therein. Under no circumstances is the Municipal Court Officer
to work in excess of twenty (20) hours per week in that capacity and
said Officer shall not be entitled to any employee benefits.

The governing body may provide for and appoint any addition
clerical help or assistants to perform such functions and duties as
prescribed by law, the rules applicable to municipal courts and by
the Municipal Judges, as well as comply with all laws and regulations
required for or directed towards the proper performance of their functions
and duties.
