The Borough of Mount Arlington shall own and maintain any grinder
pump installed by it prior to June 30, 1998, which is utilized to
connect any property in the borough to a low head pressure sewer line
until December 31, 2014. Maintenance shall not include the cost of
electricity to operate said grinder pump. The borough's ownership
and maintenance obligation for any such grinder pump shall terminate
as of December 31, 2014, and said grinder pump shall thereafter be
the sole responsibility of the property owner receiving sanitary sewer
service through the use of the grinder pump connected to the low head
pressure sewer line.
Any person seeking to connect his or her property to the municipal
sewer system subsequent to June 30, 1998, which property is served
by a low head pressure sewer line shall, at his or her sole cost and
expense, purchase, install and maintain and operate a grinder pump
to so connect his or her property to the municipal sewer system.
