Editor's Note: The City of Bayonne adopted the Mayor-Council
Plan C of the Optional Municipal Charter Law (Faulkner Act) (N.J.S.A.
40:69A-55 to N.J.S.A. 40:69A-59), which Statute was subsequently repealed
by L. 1981, c.465, [N.J.S.A. 40:69A-208.1], which also provided that
any municipality having adopted a Charter encompassing a Mayor-Council
plan of government shall continue to be governed by the Charter and
plan of government so adopted. The current Statute which governs the
Mayor-Council Plan is N.J.S.A. 69A-31 et seq. This administrative
chapter has been drafted in conformity with the Optional Charter Law
and in many instances provisions have been restated. Other enabling
laws relevant to this chapter are N.J.S.A. 2B: et seq., Municipal
Court; N.J.S.A. 40:55D-69 et seq, Zoning Board of Adjustment; N.J.S.A.
40:55D-23 et seq, Planning Board. General authority to regulate the
internal affairs of the City derives from N.J.S.A. 40:69A-29, 30.
