Any person in violation of any provisions of this Code or any other ordinance of the borough where no specific penalty is provided, shall upon conviction thereof, be subject to one or more of the following at the discretion of the court; imprisonment in the county jail or in any other place provided by the municipality for the detention of prisoners, for any term not exceeding 90 days; and/or by a fine not exceeding $2,000; and/or by a period of community service not exceeding 90 days; and/or by a period of supervised probation with or without the payment of fines or restitution. In the event that a fine exceeding $1,250 for violations of housing or zoning codes is imposed, a person against whom such fine is sought shall first have a period of 30 days within which such person may cure or abate the condition, as well as an opportunity for a hearing before the court for an independent determination concerning the violation. Subsequent to the expiration of the thirty-day period, a fine greater than $1,250 may be imposed if the court has not determined otherwise or, upon reinspection of the property, it is determined that the abatement has not been substantially completed.
