Any property owner or agent who violates any provisions of this
chapter or fails to comply with any condition of any zoning permit
which has been issued by the Zoning Officer or undertakes construction
of any building or structure which is the subject of a zoning permit
but not in compliance with said zoning permit or who puts into use
any lot or land in violation of this chapter and fails to abate such
violation within 10 days after written notice has been served upon
him, either by mail or by personal service, upon conviction thereof
shall be subject to a minimum fine of $500 or up to a maximum fine
of $1,000 or imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding
30 days, or both such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the
court. Each day that such violation continues shall be deemed to be
a separate and distinct violation.
