A. 
No permit shall be issued until specifications and plans showing necessary details of all water pipe, sewer pipe and plumbing fixtures have been submitted to the Plumbing Inspector by the plumbing contractor, architect or engineer and these plans have been checked to assure that the work will conform to the provisions of the Plumbing Code.
B. 
If the plans indicate that any provisions of the code are not being complied with, they shall be rejected and no permit issued until they have been revised to comply with the code.
C. 
If in the course of the work it is found necessary to make any change from the approved plans, specification or work, revised plans and specifications shall be submitted and a supplementary permit shall be issued to cover the change before any part of the change is commenced.
When the plumbing and drainage of existing buildings and structures is to be revised, plans must be filed, and the new work or alterations shall be executed in accordance with these rules and regulations, except if plumbing would cause undue hardship or damage to the building, in the opinion of the Plumbing Inspector. The Plumbing Inspector may refer any question arising under this section to the Plumbing Board.
A. 
Generally. Before any plumbing work requiring authorization according to the provisions of this article shall be started, a permit shall be obtained from the Plumbing Inspector, except that no such permit shall be required for repairs involving only the working parts of a faucet or valve, the clearance of stoppages or stopping of leaks, the replacement of a defective faucet or valve with a new one of the same type, provided that no changes are made in the piping to the fixture. This permit shall be obtained by the plumber who, or whose firm, has been employed to do the plumbing work or by a homeowner as provided in this article.
B. 
Septic tanks and cesspools. Special permission must be obtained from the Ulster County Department of Health for the installation of septic tanks or cesspools before a permit can be issued by a Plumbing Inspector. Septic tanks and cesspools not otherwise provided for by this Article shall be in accordance with Bulletin No. 1, New York State Department of Health.
Permits for plumbing and drainage shall be issued by the Plumbing Inspector only to master plumbers to whom a certificate of competency has been issued by the Examining Board of Plumbers of the city.
