This article shall be known as the “Borough of Mount Pocono Snow Emergency Parking Ordinance.”
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
SNOW EMERGENCY
A snow emergency shall be declared by the Borough of Mount Pocono or its designee.
SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES
Snow emergency routes shall be all streets in the Borough of Mount Pocono.
Any member of the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department or other employee of the Borough of Mount Pocono engaged in road work shall be authorized to remove any vehicle abandoned or parked upon any public highway or street in violation of the terms and provisions of this article and to take any said vehicle to an area designated by the Borough. The registered owner of any said vehicle shall be promptly notified, in writing, of the fact of the removal and of the place to which said vehicle has been removed, where he/she may obtain the same upon payment of any and all towing and storage charges.
Any person willfully violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon summary conviction before a District Justice, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $50 and not more than $300 and the costs of prosecution. Such fines shall be collected as like fines are now collected by law, and in default, shall undergo imprisonment not exceeding 30 days.
