Pursuant to the provisions of the Annotated Statutes of the State of
New Jersey, 18:25-10 and the amendments thereof and supplements thereto, the Civil
Rights Commission of the Town of West New York, in the County of Hudson (hereinafter
referred to as the "Civil Rights Commission") consisting of 12 members be
and it is hereby created.
The members of the said Civil Rights Commission shall be appointed and
shall serve for such period of time as may be fixed by their appointment,
in accordance with the terms and provisions of N.J.S.A. 18:25-10, and they shall be citizens and shall reside in the Town of West
New York in the County of Hudson, New Jersey.
The Civil Rights Commission shall organize itself and conduct its business
in accordance with the terms and provisions of N.J.S.A. 18:25-10, excepting that no committee, corporation or other person or persons,
or agency, or employee or employees shall be appointed or employed by the
said Civil Rights Commission without the formal consent of the officer appointing
said Commissioners.
The Civil Rights Commission shall have the powers and duties and be
subject to the same limitations as set forth in the statutes aforesaid.

The Civil Rights Commission shall make recommendations to the Board
of Commissioners of the Town of West New York for the development of policies
and procedures in general, and for programs of formal and informal education
that will aid in eliminating all types of discrimination based on race, creed,
color, sex, national origin or ancestry.
