WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners (the governing body) deems it necessary for the efficient conduct of the affairs of the Department of Public Safety that the Director thereof have an Administrative Assistant; and
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners (the governing body) deems the creation of the position of Administrative Assistant beneficial to the public welfare;
Now therefore, be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of West New York, County of Hudson, State of New Jersey, as follows:
There shall be created and there hereby is created the position of Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Department of Public Safety.
The duties and powers of said Administrative Assistant shall be to assist the Director of Public Safety in the performance of his duties in accordance with the direction of said Director.
The Administrative Assistant shall hold office during the pleasure of the Director of Public Safety.
The power to appoint the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Public Safety is hereby vested in the Director of Public Safety.

The compensation for the Administrative Assistant shall be as established by ordinance.
The title of the office shall be such as may be deemed appropriate by the Director of Public Safety in the public interest.
