WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Town of West New York deem that the sale, the offer thereof for sale, exhibition or distribution of literature or any printed material containing obscene, lewd, immoral or otherwise indecent language, prints, pictures, figures or representations, manifestly tends to corrupt the morals, health, welfare and well-being of the citizens of West New York;
Now therefore, be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of West New York, County of Hudson, State of New Jersey, as follows:
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to have in his, her or its possession or control, for sale, exhibition or distribution, or to sell, offer to sell, exhibit, give away or distribute upon or within any street, alley, park, school building or room, hall, theater, showhouse, newsstand, store or other place of business or entertainment, any book, pamphlet, paper, film or other thing containing obscene, lewd, immoral or otherwise indecent language, prints, pictures, figures or representations manifestly tending to the corruption of morals.

Any person, firm or corporation found guilty of a violation of this chapter shall be subject to the penalties provided for in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I.
