This article shall be known as the "Municipal
Administrator Ordinance." The individual appointed to this position
shall be known as the "Municipal Administrator."
Appointment to the office of Municipal Administrator
shall be made by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough
Council. The term of office shall be at the pleasure of the Mayor
and Council. The Borough Clerk may be appointed Municipal Administrator
and serve simultaneously in both capacities.
The Municipal Administrator shall have such
powers and perform such duties, other than those required by law to
be exercised by the Borough Council or by another officer, board or
agency of the Borough, as are prescribed herein and as may be prescribed
by ordinance. The powers and duties shall include, generally, the
management of the business and operations of the Borough under the
supervision and control of the Mayor and Council.
The Municipal Administrator may be removed by
2/3 vote of the Borough Council. The resolution of removal shall become
effective three months after its adoption by the Council, except that
the Council may provide that such resolution shall have immediate
effect; provided, however, that in such event the Borough Council
shall cause to be paid to the Municipal Administrator any unpaid balance
of his salary and his salary for the next three calendar months following
the adoption of such resolution.
