It shall be unlawful to connect any cellar drain,
subsurface drain or surface drain of any kind or description, sump
pump, steam exhaust, blowoff, drip pipe, air-conditioning equipment,
industrial cooling-water system, rainwater conductor, swimming pool,
stormwater inlets, catch basins, roof drain or oil pipe with the Borough
of Sea Bright's sanitary sewer.
Water runoff, surface runoff, street wash waters related
to street cleaning and maintenance infiltration (other than infiltration
contaminated by seepage from sanitary sewerage or by other discharges),
and drainage related to storm events or snow melt shall be discharged
to the storm sewers or other natural outlets approved by the Borough.
No dwelling unit equipped with a sump pump shall be
sold or rented or leased until the sump pump has been inspected to
ensure that it is not tied into the sanitary sewer in violation of
this article.

The sump pump inspection required by Subsection A of this section shall be conducted by the Plumbing Subcode Official, Construction Official or Code Enforcement Officer of the Borough of Sea Bright.

The sump pump inspection required by Subsection A of this section shall be conducted at the same time as the certificate of occupancy inspection required by the Borough or at other times as arranged with the Borough's Plumbing Subcode Official, Construction Official or Code Enforcement Officer.

In the event that a sump pump inspection required by Subsection A of this section reveals that a sump pump is connected to the Borough's sanitary sewer, the owner of the dwelling unit shall be required to disconnect the sump pump and reconnect it to an appropriate Borough storm sewer, yard, curbline, or as directed by the Borough Engineer's instructions, within 30 days after the initial inspection. No certificate of occupancy shall be issued until this is completed.
