The accounts of the Borough of Palmerton shall be audited by an independent auditor, who shall be either a certified public accountant registered in Pennsylvania or a firm of certified public accountants so registered.
A. 
Such independent auditor shall be appointed annually by resolution before the close of the fiscal year to make an independent examination of all accounts and accounting records of the Borough of Palmerton for the fiscal year then closing.
B. 
Compensation for such auditor shall be fixed by the Borough Council.
C. 
Such auditor shall also perform the other duties and exercise the powers conferred upon independent auditors by the Borough Code.[1]
