This chapter is adopted for the purpose of establishing
a registry as to the identity and addresses of the Borough residents
in order to render more effective the administration of government,
including the collection of certain taxes. The permit required by
this chapter shall be in addition to and exclusive of all zoning,
building and other permits and licenses required by the Borough of
Palmerton.

Any person or persons, firm or corporation wishing
to move or causing to be moved into the Borough of Palmerton or from
any place within the Borough of Palmerton to another place therein
or place beyond the limits thereof any household goods in bulk shall
secure from the Borough Secretary of the Borough of Palmerton a permit
for such moving or transportation.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation desiring
such a permit for the removal or transportation of household goods
in the manner above described shall make application to the Borough
Secretary of the Borough of Palmerton, setting forth his, its or their
name and address and also setting forth the names of the owners or
reputed owners of the property to be moved, the address and location
from which the property is to be removed and the new address or location
of the place to which the property is to be moved.

The Borough Secretary shall, upon application being made as provided for in § 80-3 of this chapter, issue a permit for which a charge in accordance with the established fee schedule, as adopted by resolution of the Borough Council from time to time, will be made, setting forth the name of the permittee as well as the name or names of the owners of the goods to be moved and the address from which the goods are to be removed and the address to which the goods are to be delivered.

Any person or persons violating the provisions of this chapter or furnishing false information to the Borough Secretary or using false names or addresses shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, § 1-17B, of the Code of the Borough of Palmerton. This section shall not apply to any person or persons protected under a PFA or witness protection program.
